Authorities in Sharjah have cracked down on a major fraud operation involving the illegal sale of water falsely labeled as Zamzam water—a sacred product highly valued by many in the region.
During routine inspections, officials from the Sharjah City Municipality, working alongside the Control and Inspection Department and the Health Control and Safety Department, uncovered a residential property illegally converted into a water bottling facility.
The individual behind the operation was reportedly filling bottles with regular tank water and selling it as Zamzam, deceiving consumers and violating health and safety regulations.
Authorities have confirmed that the facility has been shut down, and legal action is being taken. Residents are urged to purchase Zamzam water only from licensed and verified sources.
