The Dubai Police has taken strong action against the careless scooter ride, announced to seize 656 electric scooters in the Al Barsha area alone due to several traffic violations by riders.
The announcement made on Saturday highlights the efforts on the efforts by the authorities to increase road safety and ensure responsible use of micro-motional equipment across the city.
🚫 General violations include:
Ride on main roads or highways
Pedestrian areas ignored
Helmet or deficiency of protective gear
Ride with more than one passenger
Traffic signal and signage disregard
The Dubai Police emphasized that e-scooters offer a convenient and environmentally friendly mode of transportation, safety and compliance with rules are non-conventional.
Public awareness on increasing
The authorities continued to educate residents and tourists about the importance of the specified scooter zone and the following security rules. Regular inspection and awareness campaigns are expected to increase in the entire 2025.
