When is Eid al-Fitr 2024, What Will Happen After the Eclipse

Eid al-Fitr 2024 is predicted by the Dubai Astronomy Association to begin on 10 April; a day after the usual prediction of the past years.

That’s because the Shawwal crescent moon might be spotted later than usual.

Shawwal, though it will begin on 8 April, will be obstructed by a total solar eclipse, making it invisible to be seen in the western region of Dubai and other Arab countries till after sunset.

It’ll be fully seen on 9 April– leaving April 10 as the beginning of Eid al-Fitr.

PS: The Shawwal crescent moon marks the end of Ramadan ushering in Eid al-Fitr(the festival of breaking the feast].

If the above predictions are correct, then, both private and government workers will enjoy a 6-day holiday in Dubai. Otherwise – more enjoyment because that’ll make it a 9-day holiday.

This was predicted on Thursday, February 15 by Dubai Astronomy Association.

However, Eid al-Fitr isn’t all about pleasures and rest. Find out what will take place then and after.

What Takes Place in Eid al-Fitr

Eid al-Fitr is one of two official holidays celebrated within Islam, next is Eid al-Adha – won’t be talking about it now.

Eid al-Fitr is a ceremony joint to Ramadan which tells a story in the Islam faith when the holy Quran was revealed to the prophet Mohammed,[PBUH].

Also, he was told by Allah that he’s a prophet who will carry the message of God. This is significant to Laylat al-Qadr(night of power).

The season is fond of a large, community-wide prayer service in the morning, followed by meals and conversation with friends and family. It’s a time of love.

What will Happen After Eid al-Fitr 2024

After Eid al-Fitr, Muslims in Dubai and from other countries fall back to their various activities and occupations.

Fast forward; to 2 months later…

Eid al-Adha – “feast of the sacrifice” – is then observed, lasting four days.

Eid Al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha are the major official holidays in Dubai and all Muslim states.

Eid al-Adha entails the end of the Hajj, an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Mainly the ceremony honors prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son on God’s orders.

Eid al-Adha 2024, begins the evening of Sun, 16 June 2024 – Mon, 17 June.

Eid al-Fitr was first observed by the Prophet Muhammad after he migrated from Mecca to Medina.

After him, the first Eid al-Fitr was celebrated in the year 624 CE in Medina, after Muslims had completed their first Ramadan.
