There are major changes in Instagram in the UAE – and they are all about the safety of young users.
From June 19, all teenagers under the age of 16 will automatically be placed in new ‘adolescent accounts’, a step by meta designed to prioritize privacy, balance and digital welfare.
🛡 What is new in adolescent accounts?
DM banned from unknown adults
Sleep mode to limit night use
Daily time limit to encourage healthy scrolling habits
Strict material recommendations to protect feed and over age
Says Meta, “This is Instagram’s most safety-centered update,” says Meta, as the stage has continued efforts to make social media safe for the next generation.
For parents, this is an additional layer of peace of mind. For teenagers, it is a clever, safe way to live social.
Because online growth should come with safety – not pressure.
