Paving the Future: RTA Awards Contract for Al Mustaqbal Street Development Project

In a strategic move to support Dubai’s rapid urban expansion and growing population, Rhodes and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially awarded the contract for the Al Musthal Street Development Project – a major initiative to improve road infrastructure and public transport connectivity in the city center.

The project is part of RTA’s ongoing efforts to increase traffic flows, reduce congestion and create a more efficient and durable transport network in Dubai. Al Mudakbal Street, which runs through major commercial and residential districts, undergoes a major change to adjust the needs of increasing demand and future dynamics.

According to RTA officials, development will include widening the major road segment, upgrading intersections and improving access to public transit systems including bus and metro stations. Smart Traffic Management Technologies and pedestrian-friendly elements will also be integrated to increase security and purpose for all passengers.

“The project reflects our commitment to future proofing Dubai infrastructure,” said an RTA spokesman. “Al Mastabal Street plays an important role in adding new development, and this upgrade will ensure smooth travel, low travel time and urban hub better.”

The Al Mustakbal Street Development Project aligns with the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, which prefer smart mobility, sustainable development and high quality urban life.

Construction is expected to begin at the end of this year, which leads to a phased implementation to reduce the disruption. Once completed, upgraded Al Mustabal Street will serve as a modern, multi-model corridor, which supports the vision of becoming a global leader in Dubai’s integrated transport and urban innovation.
