In what can only be described as a show of reverence and solidarity, a tribute memorial Mass was held for former Pope Francis and it was attended by hundreds of priests, community members, as well as diplomats at the Church of St. Francis in the Abrahamic Family House, located in Abu Dhabi. For a leader remembered for his impactful philanthropic endeavors at the forefront of global issues, this ceremony served to honor the leader and reflect on his impactful life.
During the memorial sermon, the Apostolic Nuncio was tasked with the and delivered, as expected, a compelling frank memorial message focused on the late Pope, detailing compassionism’s profound legacy enduring humility. Additionally, in his address, he brought back to the attention the admonishing quotes that late Popes had i.e during one of the speeches he said that Church is a hospital for the poor which indicates his remarkable compassion for vulnerable groups.
Differentiating strongly from the past, Pope Francis’s reign was marked by a simplistic approach to daily life, which closely married a desire to be interconnected to the citizenry. Unlike his predecessors, Pope Francis strived to build a tangible bond with the clergy and counterpart civilians through actions that build affection, gentle treatment, and humble giving.
The memorial for the late Pope was held at the interfaith center – The Abrahamic Family House – as it marks the efforts of Pope’s mission in peace and reconciliation among various faiths.
