Children Under the age of 5 are banned from Adult Pools
A circular has been released by the Dubai Municipality that a child below the age of 5 cannot enter adult swimming pools. The circular has been forwarded to the hotels and apartments in Dubai. The Dubai municipality also announced that the children must be accompanied by their parents in the pool area at all times. The circular was released by the Environment Health Section Under the Health and Safety Department of Dubai Municipality.
The circular to ban the entry of children in the Adult Pool was originally issued on August 3, 2022, and sent out again on Wednesday. The new rules mention that people must “ensure children are accompanied by their guardians in the pool area and children below the age of 5 are not allowed in the Adult Swimming Pool.
The new regulation also states that all the hotels in Dubai must ensure an appropriate number of lifeguards are on duty, depending on the size of the pool. The lifeguards must be professional with adequate knowledge and proper training regarding the way rescuers operate, rescue methods, and swimming pool supervision.
The decision was taken due to the recent incident that happened in the adult swimming pool of a hotel. This circular also includes putting the swimming pool instructions in a visible area which should be written in both Arabic and English language. This new rule will help to reduce the accidents that mostly happen with children in the swimming pool. These safety measures are taken into effect to ensure the safety of swimmers. Many incidents happened in our day-to-day life in the swimming pool so prevention is better than cure.
It is necessary to ban the entry of children below 5 years into an adult swimming pool to reduce accidents and due to safety reasons.
