When it comes to the Middle East, one of the most well-known cities is Dubai. But is Dubai a city or a country? The answer might surprise you!
Dubai is actually a city located within the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This large city on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf has been making news headlines around the world in recent years due to its rapid modernization and booming economy.
As an international metropolis, Dubai boasts some of the world’s tallest buildings, expansive beaches, world-class shopping malls, and a vibrant nightlife – all of which contribute to its place as one of the top tourist destinations in the UAE. In addition, it is also home to financial powerhouses such as DP World and The London Stock Exchange.
With a population of around 3 million people, it’s no wonder that many have mistaken this bustling city for an entire nation-state! But while Dubai is indeed one of the largest and most popular cities within the UAE, it’s still just one part of this unique federation made up of seven distinct emirates. Just remember that when someone asks you “Is Dubai a country?” – your answer should be “No, it’s not!”
