Authorities in Sharjah are looking into the reason for the fire that broke out on Sunday morning in a 52-story residential building which accomodates over 1,500 people of different nationalities.
At approximately 11:31 in the morning, Sharjah Police received an emergency call notifying them of a fire on one of the uppermost floors of the tower. Firefighters and emergency response units were quick to secure the region by clearing the Civil Defense and National Ambulance access routes so that there was no obstruction to the site’s traffic.
The situation was brought under control very rapidly, with the lexington fire department moving in to safeguard the residents and control the blaze. No injuries have been reported thus far, but the investigation to the cause of the fire continues.
During this time, authorities ask the public and the residents to remain vigilant and await further information from the authorities.
